Isak is coming off his best season as a professional, lighting the league up with a career-high 23 goals, finishing second in the Golden Boot race. He added six assists and had multi-goal contribution games in six different outings. While seemingly dealing with a nagging injury the majority of the second half of the season, he battled through and started 34 matches. His summer has been thrown into disarray as he pushes for a move away from Newcastle. With reports that he is refusing to play for the club again it's hard to see him suiting up on Tyneside during the 2025/26 campaign. If he does get his move to Liverpool he would remain one of the top strikers in the league and an elite option in all competitions.

Isak (ankle) is training with running shoes for the first time this week and could make his return around early April if everything goes as planned in his recovery, coach Arne Slot said in the press conference. "Alex, I think he has been on the pitch now, not with his football shoes but with his running shoes, for the first time this week, so that will still take a while as well before he is ready to play for us again... let's not put a timescale on it, but it's clear that he will be available, if things go as planned, this season."
