Julian Alvarez
26-Year-Old
Atlético Madrid
La Liga
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Alvarez enjoyed an incredible first season with Los Colchoneros. The Argentinian forward notched 17 goals and four assists across 37 appearances (30 starts) in league play while also tallying 40 chances created and 50 corners taken. Even better, he didn't start taking corners until late November. Alvarez established himself as the go-to attacking weapon even though Alexander Sorloth was the leading scorer with 20 goals. Regardless of whether he plays alongside Antoine Griezmann or Sorloth, expect Alvarez to play a prominent role upfront with one of the highest ceilings in the league.
Two goals and an assist Tuesday
Alvarez scored two goals and assisted once from two shots and two chances created in Tuesday's 5-2 win versus Tottenham Hotspur.
ANALYSIS
Alvarez was involved in three of his side's goals Tuesday, his third match this season (all competitions) with three goal contributions. He assisted Marcos Llorente's opener in the 6th minute following a mistake by Antonin Kinsky, then scored perhaps the easiest goal of his career in the 15th minute off another mistake by Kinsky which allowed Alvarez to literally walk the ball into the net. Alvarez wasn't done though as he finished off a wonderful fast break opportunity in the 55th minute to give his side a commanding 5-1 lead. Alvarez will look to finish off Spurs next Wednesday in the second leg.

Alvarez hasn't shown any desire to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer, but that hasn't stopped some of the top clubs in Europe from keeping close tabs on the Argentina star. Chelsea and Arsenal are expected to kick the tires on Alvarez's availability, but neither team is leading the race for his services. If Alvarez decides to leave the Wanda Metropolitano, he's expected to target a move to FC Barcelona.
