Cucurella finally stayed healthy last season, appearing regularly and finishing with a career-best five goals and one assist from 33 starts. He won 45 of his attempted 67 tackles, continuing his defensive effort to go with a little more attacking upside. Left-back is one of the few positions that Chelsea have not gone to the market to freshen up the past couple years and that's because of Cucurella. While known more for his defensive ability, it wouldn't be surprising if his attacking output grew once again in 2025/26.
Set for further assessment
Cucurella (hamstring) is out for Friday's match against Hull City and is set for further testing, according to manager Liam Rosenior. "For Marc, it's too early to know [the extent of the injury]. He's definitely out for the game against Hull. We're doing our scans and assessments on him, and hopefully, it's not too long [his absence]."
