Pegula knocked out her No. 4-ranked countrywoman fairly comfortably in two sets across one hour and 35 minutes to move into the third major semifinal of her career and her first in Melbourne. The No. 6 seed finished with 20 winners compared to 21 unforced errors and played a strong tiebreak after failing to serve out the match at 6-5. Pegula will play No. 5 seed Elena Rybakina (3-3 H2H) in the semis, who she most recently lost to at the end of last year at the WTA Finals.
