With just one win in six matches and staring down the barrel, Perth Scorchers travel to Melbourne to take on the Melbourne Stars, who are third in the points table. Despite boasting of one of the best pace attacks in the league, the Perth Scorchers have failed to impress and against a batting line-up waiting to explode, their task is cut out.

Melbourne Stars had beat Sydney Thunder in their last fixture and have three wins in five matches. One win will take them on par with the Sixers in the points table with one less match played. Led by Glenn Maxwell and boasting of an array of terrific batters, the Stars are one of the teams of the tournament. Anything but a Stars win on a flat surface would be a surprise.

Conditions: A flat baked batting track but long boundaries could bring the spinners into play.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Cameron Bancroft (8.5 credits)

Returning after serving his ball-tampering ban, Cameron Bancroft has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He sorely needs a big knock to put the whole thing behind him and opening the batting gives him the best bet to establish himself in the tournament. Bancroft is a brilliant batsman and has the game for all formats. On a flat surface, Bancroft should be best placed to give Perth a major boost.

Batsman: Ashley Turner (9 credits)

Turner has been an inconspicuous contributor for the Scorchers, holding up the side when everyone else has

Batsman: Ashley Turner (9 credits)

Turner has been an inconspicuous contributor for the Scorchers, holding up the side when everyone else has been failing. Turner has led with flair and is a dominant batsman when he gets going. If anyone is going to give Perth a lift, it is likely to be Turner. Do not make him a skipper but have him around in the fantasy side.

All-rounder: Marcus Stoinis (10 credits)

Opening the batting and bowling in the death overs makes Stoinis one of the most fanciest picks in the fantasy side. A hard-hitting batsman and a bowler with multitude variations, Stoinis is a must-have in your fantasy side and a highly recommended captaincy choice. The all-rounder should definitely give you points in both departments.

Bowler: Adam Zampa (9 credits)

In a huge stadium, the leg-spinner Adam Zampa is a good pick. He is economical, turns the ball on any surface and is a great middle overs bowler. Given that the Scorchers have a suspect batting attack, Zampa becomes all the more important. Melbourne isn't an easy ground to clear and the leg-spinner could pick up a handful of wickets.

Captain: Marcus Stoinis

Vice-captain: Adam Zampa
