Colts vs. Falcons is in Berlin

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

Quarterbacks

1.Josh Allen BUF at MIA
2.Lamar Jackson BAL at MIN
3.Jalen Hurts PHI at GB
4.Caleb Williams CHI vs. NYG
5.*Daniel Jones IND vs. ATL
Note: Jones is coming off of by far his worst game as a Colt, throwing three interceptions and losing two fumbles on sacks against the Steelers. This week's game against the Falcons in Berlin is sneakily similarly dangerous.
6.Matthew Stafford LA at SF
7.Drake Maye NE at TB
8.*Sam Darnold SEA vs. ARI
Note: Darnold looked as if he hit the 'easy button' against the Commanders on Sunday night. He'll have home field and the rest advantage this week against the Cardinals. He'll also have reinforcements, with the Seahawks trading for Rashid Shaheed on Tuesday.
9.*Jaxson Dart NYG at CHI
Note: Dart's passing numbers suffered against the Niners, but once again, his rushing ability lifted his overall performance.
10.*Jared Goff DET at WAS
Note: Goff's numbers against the Vikings (25-37-284-2-0) look good enough, but he was under pressure multiple times at critical junctures. The Commanders are not as likely to provide that pressure this week.
11.Baker Mayfield TB vs. NE
12.Bo Nix DEN vs. LV
13.*Justin Herbert LAC vs. PIT
Note: I'm a little worried about Herbert playing without Joe Alt (ankle) for the rest of the season, especially against the Steelers' reinvigorated pass rush.
14.Jordan Love GB vs. PHI
15.Michael Penix ATL at IND
16.*Mac Jones SF vs. LAR
Note: Jones once again was functional enough in the Niners' win, but will Brock Purdy (toe) return this week?
17.*Jacoby Brissett ARZ at SEA
Note: Brissett will get another start at quarterback while Kyler Murray continues his rehab of his foot injury. Murray has missed three games and the bye week, and the injury is now being described as a 4-to-8 week deal.
18.*Trevor Lawrence JAC at HOU
Note: Lawrence's receivers keep dropping passes and dropping like flies. But he will have Jakobi Meyers added to his receivers room.
19.Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs. BUF
20.Aaron Rodgers PIT at LAC
21.*Marcus Mariota WAS vs. DET
Note: Mariota is in line to start in the near-term, with Jayden Daniels (elbow) out 'for a while.'
22.J.J. McCarthy MIN vs. BAL
23.Justin Fields NYJ vs. CLE
24.*Geno Smith LV at DEN
Note: Smith had four touchdowns and 284 yards and an interception against the Jaguars, but now he goes on the road against the Broncos, on short rest, and won't have Jakobi Meyers.
25.Bryce Young CAR vs. NO
26.Tyler Shough NO at CAR
27.*Dillon Gabriel CLE at NYJ
Note: Teammate Shedeur Sanders is still dealing with a back injury coming out of the bye week, so Gabriel isn't in immediate risk of losing his starting job.
28.*Davis Mills HOU vs. JAX
Note: Mills saw diminishing returns as the game progressed in relief of C.J. Stroud against the Broncos. He might have to start this week's showdown against the Jaguars.
29.*Brock Purdy SF vs. LAR
Note: Is this the week that Purdy (toe) returns?
30.*C.J. Stroud HOU vs. JAX
Note: Stroud left Sunday's loss to the Broncos with a concussion in the first half.
31.*Tyrod Taylor NYJ vs. CLE
Note: Taylor (knee) will resume practicing this week. Coach Aaron Glenn has not named a starter for this week's game against the Browns.
32.*Kyler Murray ARZ at SEA
Note: Murray will get more time to rehab his foot injury. It's now being described as a 4-to-8 week injury.
33.*Jayden Daniels WAS vs. DET
Note: Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow in the loss to the Seahawks and is out 'for a while,' likely to move to IR.
34.Dak Prescott DAL at
35.Joe Flacco CIN at
36.Cam Ward TEN at

Running Backs

1.Christian McCaffrey SF vs. LAR
2.Bijan Robinson ATL at IND
3.James Cook BUF at MIA
4.Jonathan Taylor IND vs. ATL
5.De'Von Achane MIA vs. BUF
6.*Rico Dowdle CAR vs. NO
Note: Dowdle was massive in the win over the Packers, carrying it 25 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
7.*Jahmyr Gibbs DET at WAS
Note: Gibbs was limited to 12 unproductive touches in the loss to the Vikings. This marks two rough outings in the last three games for Gibbs, and a lot of his production in the passing game has dried up.
8.*Saquon Barkley PHI at GB
Note: The Eagles were confident that Barkley (groin) would be back after the bye for Monday night's game against the Packers. We might not have a full picture on his status until Saturday.
9.Kyren Williams LA at SF
10.Josh Jacobs GB vs. PHI
11.Derrick Henry BAL at MIN
12.Jaylen Warren PIT at LAC
13.*Kyle Monangai CHI vs. NYG
Note: While it will never be as fruitful as it was against the Bengals, Monangai has another decent matchup against the Giants this week should D'Andre Swift (groin) be forced to sit out another week.
14.*Quinshon Judkins CLE at NYJ
Note: Judkins (shoulder) was deemed 'day-to-day' last week. If healthy, he's in a pretty good matchup against a Jets defense that just traded away Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.
15.J.K. Dobbins DEN vs. LV
16.*Travis Etienne JAC at HOU
Note: Despite netting 22 carries and five catches, Etienne's fantasy day was still disappointing, in that Bhayshul Tuten took some of the goal line carries and Trevor Lawrence ran for two touchdowns.
17.Ashton Jeanty LV at DEN
18.Zach Charbonnet SEA vs. ARI
19.*Kimani Vidal LAC vs. PIT
Note: Teammate Omarion Hampton won't return until after the team's Week 12 bye, and the Chargers did not add another RB at the trade deadline.
20.Kenneth Walker SEA vs. ARI
21.Rachaad White TB vs. NE
22.*Breece Hall NYJ vs. CLE
Note: Hall stayed put on Trade Deadline Day despite openly lobbying to get dealt. This won't be awkward at all.
23.Jordan Mason MIN vs. BAL
24.David Montgomery DET at WAS
25.*TreVeyon Henderson NE at TB
Note: Henderson led the Pats backs with 18 touches, but it was Terrell Jennings that had the sole rushing touchdown for the Pats.
26.*Emari Demercado ARZ at SEA
Note: Demercado had more carries and yards than teammate Bam Knight, but wasn't used at the goal line and had just one catch.
27.Alvin Kamara NO at CAR
28.*Aaron Jones MIN vs. BAL
Note: Jones suffered an AC join sprain in his right shoulder in the win over the Lions on Sunday. Jones was sore on Monday, but coach Kevin O'Connell said the team 'received positive news early on' regarding his potential status ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens.
29.Isaiah Davis NYJ vs. CLE
30.Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS vs. DET
31.RJ Harvey DEN vs. LV
32.Devin Singletary NYG at CHI
33.*Tank Bigsby PHI at GB
Note: Bigsby was very effective against the Giants after the Barkley injury. We'll see more on Saquon's status following Thursday's practice.
34.*Tyrone Tracy NYG at CHI
Note: Tracy had two fewer touches than Devin Singletary, eight vs. 10, in the loss to the Niners.
35.Nick Chubb HOU vs. JAX
36.Emanuel Wilson GB vs. PHI
37.Dylan Sampson CLE at NYJ
38.*Bam Knight ARZ at SEA
Note: Knight got less work and less production than Emeri Demercado, but also was in for red zone carries and some passing downs.
39.*Bhayshul Tuten JAC at HOU
Note: Tuten is stealing goal line carries from Travis Etienne, converting one of them against the Raiders among his 10 touches last week.
40.Woody Marks HOU vs. JAX
41.Tyler Allgeier ATL at IND
42.*Chuba Hubbard CAR vs. NO
Note: Hubbard had just five carries in the win over the Packers.
43.Ray Davis BUF at MIA
44.Kenneth Gainwell PIT at LAC
45.Devin Neal NO at CAR
46.Justice Hill BAL at MIN
47.Jeremy McNichols WAS vs. DET
48.Blake Corum LA at SF
49.Chris Brooks GB vs. PHI
50.*Brian Robinson SF vs. LAR
Note: Robinson had five carries for 53 yards and a touchdown against the Giants, by far his best game with the Niners.
51.Trevor Etienne CAR vs. NO
52.Ty Johnson BUF at MIA
53.*Terrell Jennings NE at TB
Note: Jennings had 11 carries for 35 yards and stole a touchdown from TreVeyon Henderson in the win over the Falcons.
54.*Jaret Patterson LAC vs. PIT
Note: Patterson played 18 snaps last week against the Titans, and will likely be activated from the practice squad again this week, following the Chargers not adding another RB at the trade deadline.
55.Jerome Ford CLE at NYJ

57.Chris Rodriguez WAS vs. DET
58.Keaton Mitchell BAL at MIN

61.Zavier Scott MIN vs. BAL

66.*Bucky Irving TB vs. NE

Wide Receivers

1.Jaxon Smith-Njigba SEA vs. ARI
2.*Puka Nacua LA at SF
Note: Nacua will get his ribs examined early in the week, but the Rams expect that he'll be able to play this week against the Niners.
3.Amon-Ra St. Brown DET at WAS
4.Justin Jefferson MIN vs. BAL
5.Drake London ATL at IND
6.Davante Adams LA at SF
7.Michael Pittman IND vs. ATL
8.*Rome Odunze CHI vs. NYG
Note: Somehow Odunze was shut out in a game where the Bears piled on over 500 yards. Sure, the Bengals lone good healthy defender, DJ Turner, was assigned to Odunze, but surely Ben Johnson could have schemed a way to get him open? Then again, they scored 47 points, so it's hard to question the coaching staff.
9.Ladd McConkey LAC vs. PIT
10.Emeka Egbuka TB vs. NE
11.Nico Collins HOU vs. JAX
12.Chris Olave NO at CAR
13.*Marvin Harrison ARZ at SEA
Note: Harrison had a career-high seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in the win on Monday night. He won't always have such a cake matchup, but he's been better with Jacoby Brissett at the helm.
14.DeVonta Smith PHI at GB
15.DK Metcalf PIT at LAC
16.Romeo Doubs GB vs. PHI
17.Tetairoa McMillan CAR vs. NO
18.Courtland Sutton DEN vs. LV

23.Khalil Shakir BUF at MIA
24.Wan'Dale Robinson NYG at CHI
25.*Alec Pierce IND vs. ATL

26.Keenan Allen LAC vs. PIT
27.Josh Downs IND vs. ATL
28.DJ Moore CHI vs. NYG
29.Jauan Jennings SF vs. LAR
30.Troy Franklin DEN vs. LV
31.Deebo Samuel WAS vs. DET
32.Christian Watson GB vs. PHI
33.Tez Johnson TB vs. NE
34.*Rashid Shaheed SEA vs. ARI
Note: Shaheed was traded Tuesday to the Seahawks for fourth and fifth round picks.
35.*Parker Washington JAC at HOU
Note: Washington had eight catches on nine targets for 90 yards in Sunday's win over the Raiders. The Jags traded for Jakobi Meyers, but might also lose Brian Thomas Jr. due to an ankle injury this week.
36.*Tory Horton SEA vs. ARI
Note: Horton's playing time situation got more complicated following the Rashid Shaheed deal.
37.Darius Slayton NYG at CHI
38.*Jameson Williams DET at WAS
Note: A late touchdown reception helped preserve the 'squeaky wheel' theory for Williams.
39.Darnell Mooney ATL at IND
40.*Jerry Jeudy CLE at NYJ
Note: Teammate Cedric Tillman (hamstring) has been designated to return to practice this week.
41.Quentin Johnston LAC vs. PIT

64.*Devaughn Vele NO at CAR
Note: Vele should be on the field more frequently following Rashid Shaheed's trade to Seattle.

Note: Mitchell went to the Jets in the Sauce Gardner deal. I don't mind picking him up a spec play, if you have the bench spot.
66.Jalen Coker CAR vs. NO
67.*Brian Thomas JAC at HOU
Note: Thomas suffered a low-grade high-ankle sprain. Some players have come back in a week from a similar diagnosis, notably Justin Herbert, though Herbert's mobility was significantly hampered in the ensuing weeks.
68.*Dyami Brown JAC at HOU

Note: Mims (concussion) was estimated to be a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice.

76.*Dontayvion Wicks GB vs. PHI
77.*Joshua Palmer BUF at MIA
78.*Terry McLaurin WAS vs. DET
Note: McLaurin (quad) isn't expected to play this week, and could also miss Week 11.
