2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mitchell seems to be a forgotten man, at least in fantasy circles, despite being drafted 52nd overall last spring after running a 4.34 40-yard dash at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds. He spent most of his rookie year as the Colts' No. 4 wide receiver, behind fellow Day 2 picks Michael Pittman, Josh Downs and Alec Pierce. The rookie drew targets on 28.2 percent of his routes, but he caught only 41.8 percent of those chances -- by far the lowest rate among players with 50-plus targets. QB Anthony Richardson was part of the problem, and a 14.7 aDOT further helps to explain Mitchell's terrible catch rate, but there were also a couple drops and a handful of other missed connections on which the wideout appeared at fault. And while it won't come as any surprise if Mitchell improves in his second season, he's still subject to most of the same limiting conditions outside of his control, facing fierce competition for snaps and targets in an offense with Richardson and/or Daniel Jones slinging passes. One-catch game following breakout
WRNew York Jets
December 7, 2025
Mitchell caught one of six targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell cooled off after his breakout performance against the Falcons in the previous game, though he wasn't helped by subpar quarterback play from third-stringer Brady Cook, who replaced Tyrod Taylor (groin) in the first half. Mitchell caught eight of 12 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown against Atlanta but has caught only four of 19 targets for 76 yards across three other appearances for the Jets. His target volume has been encouraging, but the inconsistent wide receiver's floor will remain low in Week 15 against the Jaguars, especially if the Jets start Cook or Justin Fields (knee) under center.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Colts used the 52nd pick in the 2024 draft on Mitchell, a combine standout who was never his team's top receiver in college. He had just 560 yards in two seasons at Georgia behind WR Ladd McConkey and TE Brock Bowers, before coming into his own at Texas in 2023 with a 55-845-11 receiving line on 92 targets (28 fewer looks than first-round pick Xavier Worthy). There was talk of Mitchell sneaking into the first round after the 2024 Combine, where he had the longest broad jump (136 inches) and third-fastest 40 time (4.34 second) among wide receivers -- while checking in at 6-2, 205. Physically, he's the prototype for a No. 1 receiver, and with plenty of upside for continued development given that he'll turn 22 in October. He figures to replace Alec Pierce as the deep threat alongside Michael Pittman and slot man Josh Downs, with the Colts obviously hoping Mitchell won't be as one-dimensional as Pierce (though it might take some time). Big-time volume in Year 1 is unlikely, as the Colts still have Pittman locked in for a large target share and figure to run a lot with QB Anthony Richardson and RB Jonathan Taylor.

Could be key piece moving forward
WRNew York Jets
December 4, 2025
Mitchell has solidified his place in the Jets' plans for future seasons, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell broke out for eight catches, 102 receiving yards and his first NFL touchdown in the Jets' 27-24 win over the Falcons in Week 13, which marked his third appearance with Gang Green since coming over in a trade with the Colts. The 2024 second-round draft pick struggled to carve out a large role in a deep Colts wide receiver room while struggling with mental lapses, but Mitchell's getting a chance to show off his talent as part of a Jets receiving corps that lacks established options behind Garrett Wilson, who is currently sidelined by a knee injury. Even if the Jets use some of their substantial draft capital in the upcoming draft to add to their wide receiver room, Mitchell has shown enough with his new team to remain in the mix for a starting role moving forward.
