2025 Fantasy Outlook
St. Brown caught 90 passes as a rookie and has since hit triple digits three straight years, with his combination of crisp route-running and physicality making him one of the league's top possession receivers from both the slot and the perimeter. Deep targets remain few and far between, but that didn't stop him from scoring 10 TDs in 2023 and 12 in 2024. His volume declined some last year, going from 164 targets in 16 games the year before down to 141 targets in 17 games in 2024, but he made up for it with a career-high 81.6 percent catch rate (after landing in the 72-76 percent range each year previously). While that level of efficiency is hard to maintain, St. Brown remains one of the annual favorites to lead his position in catch rate, serving as the top receiver in an offense with elite blocking, solid QB play and an excellent group of weapons. The biggest concern is the departure of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who is now head coach for the Bears and has been replaced in Detroit by John Morton. The good news is that Detroit otherwise opted for continuity, returning all but two offensive starters from last season. St. Brown figures to average six or seven catches per game again, but there is risk of a significant drop-off in touchdowns, be it due to inferior playcalling or a larger share of the receiving scores going to Detroit's other standout playmakers (namely WR Jameson Williams, TE Sam LaPorta and RB Jahmyr Gibbs). Participating in training camp
St. Brown (knee) participated in Sunday's training camp practice, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com previously reported that St. Brown underwent an offseason knee procedure, "just to clean some stuff up," in the words of the wideout. At the time, Woodyard indicated that St. Brown was expected to be ready for training camp, and that is indeed the case, with no reports of the 25-year-old being limited at practice. St. Brown thus is set to reprise his high-volume role in Detroit's offense, after having racked up 115 catches (on 141 targets) for 1,263 yards and 12 TDs in 17 regular-season contests in 2024.

2021
St. Brown has upped his production with each passing season since the Lions made him a fourth-round pick in 2021. He finished last year with career highs for catches, yards, targets and touchdowns, finishing Top 5 league-wide in each category. Star rookie TE Sam LaPorta took looks away from Detroit's ancillary pass catchers rather than St. Brown, who accounted for 29.9 percent of the targets in his 16 games, up from 27.7 percent the year before. Only CeeDee Lamb had more yards out of the slot than St. Brown's 604, and only Lamb and Tyreek Hill averaged more yards per route from the perimeter (3.3). While 4.51 speed means he'll always be more of a possession/YAC guy than true deep threat, St. Brown wasn't a complete zero downfield last year, tying for 43rd in targets 20-plus yards downfield (15) and 25th in catches (eight). He finished third among WRs in yards after catch (685) for a second straight year and dropped only two of 164 targets. St. Brown is perhaps the most effective short-area receiver in the league, and it's hard to find downside risk given the situational stability with Detroit bringing back QB Jared Goff and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
