Likely is in line to sign a three-year contract with the Giants, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
ANALYSIS
The initial report has it as a three-year, $40 million contract with a maximum value of $47.5 million. That's a good sign that the Giants envision Likely in a larger role than the one he typically handled in Baltimore, where Mark Andrews and Charlie Kolar also played a lot of snaps at tight end. That said, the Giants still have Theo Johnson on his rookie contract and recently re-signed blocking specialist Chris Manhertz, creating plenty of competition for playing time. Likely doesn't figure to handle huge snap counts even if his receiving usage expands.

How often does Isaiah Likely run a route when on the field for a pass play?
This data will let you see how Isaiah Likely and the other tight ends for the Giants are being used. Some tight ends may have a lot of snaps, but they're not that useful for fantasy purposes because they're not actually running routes. This data will help you see when this is the case.

Likely has crept closer to breaking out every season, but he's still had to settle for a 1B role behind Mark Andrews for the most part, and that won't necessarily change in 2025. Likely, a 2022 fourth-round pick, had 530 yards and seven TDs in the 10 games Andrews between 2022 and 2023. And while Andrews played every game last season, Likely finished 2024 with career highs in catches (42), receiving yards (477) and touchdowns (six). After exploding for 111 yards in Week 1 last season, Likely surpassed 50 yards just once the rest of the year. He's the only No. 2 tight end worth rostering in many fantasy formats, profiling as a no-doubt TE1 if Andrews were to miss time. There's also some chance of Likely gaining more ground on Andrews in terms of snap/route counts, but that's a narrower path to fantasy value given that the Ravens have plenty of non-TE weapons and again figure to feature Andrews and RB Derrick Henry near the goal line. It's also unclear if Likely will be available early in the season, after undergoing foot surgery in late July, with reports suggesting a six-week recovery timeline.
Likely has thrived whenever Mark Andrews has missed time, but the 2022 fourth-round pick out of Coastal Carolina otherwise has found himself delegated to a depth role. In the 10 games Andrews has missed over the past two seasons, Likely compiled 530 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Over 23 other appearances during that span, Likely had just 254 yards and one touchdown. It’s possible his strong play down the stretch last year will earn him a more prominent role in his third campaign even when Andrews is healthy, but the Ravens still don't figure to use multi-TE formations often enough to provide Likely with more than three or four targets per game. While Baltimore's WR depth looks shaky, FB Patrick Ricard is still on the roster after playing at least 31 percent of snaps in five straight seasons, including 39.4 percent last year in Todd Monken's first season as offensive coordinator. Monken presumably will get Likely more involved this year, but fantasy value in most formats still figures to depend on Andrews missing time.
Backup tight ends generally don’t generate much buzz, but Likely quickly became an exception as a rookie last summer with 12 catches for 144 yards the first two weeks of the preseason. Once games counted, the fourth-round pick was mostly stuck behind star TE Mark Andrews but then thrived when he got extra playing time. Andrews played only 10 snaps Week 8 and sat out entirely Weeks 9 and 18; in those three games, Likely caught 15 of 25 targets for 204 yards and two touchdowns. In his other 13 games, he had 21-169-1 on 35 targets. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end now faces tougher snap/target competition from an upgraded group of wideouts, but new OC Todd Monken may nonetheless make two-TE sets a big part of his offense, especially if rookie WR Zay Flowers is slow to develop or Odell Beckham and Rashod Bateman struggle with injuries again.
Tight ends are a major factor in Baltimore's offense, so Likely landing in the Charm City instantly puts him on the fantasy radar. Mark Andrews is the top option in the passing game and that isn't changing anytime soon. But there is still room for a second tight end to get in on the rotation for targets and Baltimore's offseason decisions with the receiving corps only strengthen that notion. Likely has an interesting profile in his own right, too. He averaged 11.69 YPT over 78 targets and scored 12 touchdowns in his final season at Coastal Carolina. His combine metrics kept him from being drafted higher and his frame (6-5, 245) could be an issue as it relates to blocking NFL edge rushers and linebackers. There's added competition with fellow rookie Charlie Kolar to consider, too. It may take until midseason for one of either Likely or Kolar to emerge as a secondary tight end target behind Andrews, but there's reason to believe one of these rookies can have a role in Baltimore's passing game this year.

Labeled as sleeper free agent
TEBaltimore Ravens
March 6, 2026
Likely is rated as one of the top five sleeper free agents by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Rosenthal sees the potential for Likely to emerge as a legitimate star outside of Baltimore, where Mark Andrews' presence on the roster has always served as an impediment to a full breakout. Likely creates mismatches due to his speed/size combination, and Rosenthal sees him attracting plenty of interest as teams increasingly utilize multi-tight-end packages.
