2025 Fantasy Outlook
Off-field problems prevented Turpin from getting a chance in the NFL after he finished his college career in 2018, even though he scored six special teams TDs in four seasons at TCU and then ran a 4.31 40-yard dash. He finally got his NFL shot in 2022, and has since been named to the Pro Bowl twice as a return specialist, including last season when he scored once on a punt and once on a kickoff, in addition to putting up a 31-420-2 receiving line and 16-92-0 rushing. Turpin will be 29 before Week 1 and may well be maxed out as a return specialist and No. 4 receiver, but there's perhaps some hope of challenging Jalen Tolbert for the No. 3 role behind locked-in starters CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Getting work in backfield
Turpin has taken handoffs with the first-team offense during the first couple days of training camp, Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old is locked into a roster spot as the Cowboys' primary kick returner and as a depth option at wideout, but Turpin could be adding more duties to his portfolio. Dallas lacks an established starter in the backfield, with bargain free-agent signings Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders battling with rookies Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah, as well as holdover Deuce Vaughn, for snaps and touches, and Turpin appears to be tossing his hat in the ring. While he's unlikely to win the top job outright, he could work in as part of a committee and provide a direct threat to Blue and Vaughn as an undersized speedster who can contribute as a receiver.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
After a dynamic rookie season as a return man, teams avoided kicking the ball to Turpin last year, and his yardage dropped from 811 in 2022 to 371. He saw more work on offense, though, and Turpin scored his first career NFL touchdowns last season - three on the ground, one through the air - despite getting only 23 total touches. With RB Tony Pollard and WR Michael Gallup both gone, the Cowboys are relying on internal options to step up, and Turpin's usage as a gadget player could increase again. The 27-year-old isn't likely to become a full-time offensive player, however.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Big impact in 2025?
Saad Yousef of The Athletic believes that Turpin will be utilized heavily as a playmaker more than a receiver in the Cowboys' offense.
ANALYSIS
Turpin signed a three-year, $18 million extension with the Cowboys in March after a solid 2024 campaign in which he caught 31 passes on 52 targets for 420 yards and two touchdowns while also logging a touchdown as both a punt and kick returner. CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson figure to see the bulk of the receiving production, but Yousef relays that the Cowboys have utilized Turpin out of the backfield and on quick routes near the line of scrimmage during minicamp. Even if he's not Dak Prescott's first look in the passing game, Turpin should still have a significant role in the Cowboys' offense in 2025.
