He missed just one PAT and three field-goal attempts inside of 50 yards, but that ultimately wasn't enough to justify his salary, so the Colts released him in April. Gay cashed in big after his impressive showings for the Rams in 2021 (94.1 FG percentage) and 2022 (93.3 percent), signing a four-year contract with the Colts last spring that made him the second-highest-paid kicker in terms of average annual value. He ended up tying for second among kickers in fantasy points thanks to his 41 field-goal attempts (second most), but he also had the second most FG misses (eight). To be fair, five of those misses came from 50-plus yards, and Gay also had eight makes in that range, making him more of a slight disappointment than a disaster. The contract should give him job security for 2024, and there's a chance for the Colts offense to take a big step forward with second-year QB Anthony Richardson at the helm.
