Reed Blankenship

After going undrafted in 2022 and not playing a defensive snap until Week 11, Blankenship emerged as a starting safety late in his rookie season and remained in that role throughout his second NFL campaign. Rib injuries caused two separate one-game absences in the first half of the season, but Blankenship finished with 113 tackles (79 solo) and three interceptions in 15 games. He also dealt with a groin issue which caused him to miss the wild-card round and required offseason surgery, but he should reprise his role as the Eagles' starting free safety this season.

Blankenship went undrafted as a fifth-year senior out of Middle Tennessee St. and was active for just one of the Eagles' first eight games, but he wound up playing a regular role in the secondary down the stretch as a rookie last season, starting four times. In 10 total appearances, the safety recorded 34 tackles and one interception. With C.J. Gardner-Johnson departing in free agency, Blankenship appears lined up to step into a starting role.
