2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harvey originally was recruited to Virginia to play quarterback, but at 5-foot-8, 205 pounds, that would have been a disorienting sight. He found his true calling upon transferring to UCF, where he moved to running back and caught fire. After an initial redshirt season, Harvey went nuts the next three years, turning 576 carries into 3,789 yards (6.6 YPC) and 43 touchdowns in 38 games. Harvey was also lethal as a receiver, turning 79 targets into 61 receptions for 720 yards and five touchdowns (77.2 percent catch rate, 9.1 YPT). While he might look small at a glance, Harvey is densely built for his height, with a low center of gravity that makes him difficult to tackle. He thrived as a workhorse the last two years, and he may quickly emerge as a starter for the Broncos after they drafted him in the second round, 60th overall, this spring. His prospects took a bit of a hit when the Broncos signed J.K. Dobbins in June, but the team doesn't have much else in the backfield, returning Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin. Perhaps Harvey was a surprising second-round pick, but no one should be surprised if he takes over the Denver offense in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Gets backfield competition
Harvey has new backfield competition with the Broncos having agreed to terms with J.K. Dobbins on a one-year, $5.25 million contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Dobbins offers more experience than Audric Estime or Jaleel McLaughlin, with the 26-year-old having racked up 1,058 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns across 13 regular-season appearances with the Chargers in 2024 -- a tremendous rebound after three consecutive injury-riddled years in Baltimore. While Dobbins' impressive comeback year shouldn't be discounted, he still missed four games due to an MCL sprain and faded down the stretch. His 4.6 YPC on the season was buoyed by a strong start, as from Week 3 on he managed just 3.8 YPC. Harvey's impressive athleticism, 4.40 speed and status as a second-round pick still makes him likely to see a significant role out of the gate, and coach Sean Payton's offenses have a history of supporting two fantasy-viable RBs at a time. Nonetheless, the arrival of Dobbins makes it harder to project the rookie as a workhorse for the Broncos in 2025.

Exceeding expectations so far
Harvey has impressed the Broncos with his receiving skills so far in addition to being in tremendous shape for offseason work, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Selected in the second round of the 2025 Draft out of Central Florida, Harvey was initially projected to be the lead back for Denver this season, but the subsequent signing of veteran J.K. Dobbins led some to suspect the team was souring on him after getting an initial look at him on the field. Instead, Harvey seems to be exceeding the benchmarks set for his progress during OTAs and minicamp, and the Dobbins signing was simply about adding value to the roster. Harvey won't truly be tested until pads come on for training camp and preseason action, but he's still on track to have a significant role in the Broncos offense.
