Tyrone Tracy

25-Year-Old Running BackRB
New York Giants
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Guessing Tracy's trajectory from here isn't easy, but his 2024 rookie season was promising, especially for a player who was in only his second year playing running back full-time. He previously played wide receiver at Iowa and Purdue, so for him to claim a starting role with the Giants as a rookie fifth-round pick is a triumph regardless of how the rest of his career goes. That Tracy is an ongoing conversion case means he might suddenly improve at various RB functions where he struggled previously, even though he's one of the oldest players (25) from his draft class. With that said, Tracy will need to improve in order to remain a clear starter ahead of rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo and veteran Devin Singletary. It was easy for the Giants to give Tracy a long leash in an already-wasted 2024 season, but the coaches aren't likely to continue tolerating one fumble for every 46 touches (five times on 230 touches last year). While his receiving work last season was perhaps slightly disappointing for a WR convert, Tracy did well to average 4.4 yards per carry in a terrible offense with bad blocking, making him the favorite to enter Week 1 of 2025 as New York's starting RB. Tracy rushed 10 times for 24 yards and caught two of five targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 21-6 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Tracy failed to find any running room, though Devin Singletary and rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo were even worse, with a combined six rushing yards on five carries. Poor offensive play could limit the Giants' offense all season, but Tracy at least looks like the team's clear lead back to begin his second NFL season. Tracy will try to bounce back in Week 2 against the Cowboys.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
A converted wide receiver, Tracy joins a Giants backfield in need of dynamic playmaking after Saquon Barkley left for the Eagles. A fifth-round pick out of Purdue in 2024, Tracy runs with surprising power given his background, but it's his elusiveness and desire to squeeze every possible yard out of a run that stand out. He's still learning the nuances of being a running back and can get himself into trouble trying to do too much, but he could be a weapon on jet sweeps and as a kick returner right away behind starter Devin Singletary.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Big 2025 projected
RBNew York Giants
July 11, 2025
Tracy is slotted in as the running back on the 2025 All-Breakout Team put together by Bucky Brooks of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Brooks' take is hardly headline news in the sense hopes are universally high for Tracy after he managed to compile 1,123 total yards and six touchdowns on 230 touches across 17 regular-season games as a rookie in 2024. Tracy accomplished those numbers on a poor offense, and the upgrade at quarterback to veteran Russell Wilson should lead to lighter defensive boxes and wider lanes in the running game in Brooks' estimation.
