New York Islanders at Vancouver Canucks

The Islanders (26-17-5) meet the Canucks (16-27-5) at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a puck drop at 10 p.m. EST. The game can be viewed or streamed on ESPN+.

It's been mixed results so far on the road trip. New York is 2-2-1 in the first five stops on a seven-game road trip. It suffered a 4-2 loss against the Calgary Flames last time out on Saturday at even-money (+100) as the total (6) pushed at most shops.

The Islanders have been having difficulty stacking wins lately, so the loss Saturday wasn't shocking. They won 1-0 behind Ilya Sorokin on Thursday, but it has managed consecutive wins just twice since Dec. 16, and they haven't had three or more in a row since Dec. 9-13.

The Over is 5-2-1 in the past eight games for the Islanders, averaging 3.4 goals per game (GPG), while allowing 3.0 GPG in the span.

The Canucks have been horrific lately, losing seven straight games in regulation, while going 0-8-2 in the past 10 outings, and they're having a power outage on offense. Vancouver has totaled just two goals in the past three games and 1.7 GPG in the past 10 outings. It's a surprise that the Under has cashed in three in a row. However, the Over-Under is 5-5 in that 10-game span, as the Canucks have allowed 4.6 GPG in those outings.

Sorokin (15-11-2, 2.47 GAA, .915 SV%, 5 SO) is confirmed to start Monday's game, while it's likely Kevin Lankinen (6-13-4, 3.36 GAA, .886 SV%) gets the nod.

Let's back the Islanders on the puck line on the road, and we'll go low on the total, based on Vancouver's struggles to light the lamp recently.

  • Islanders -1.5 Goals (+175 at Bet365, BetRivers and Fanatics Sportsbooks)
  • Under 6.5 (-130 at Fanatics Sportsbook)

New York Rangers at Anaheim Ducks

The Rangers (21-22-6) and the Ducks (24-21-3) meet at Honda Center at 10 p.m. EST, and it is also available on ESPN+.

New York has posted a 16-9-2 record on the road, while going just 5-13-4 at home. It's one of the craziest splits in recent memory. For Anaheim, it is 14-8-1 at home, and 10-13-2 on the road, which is a little more usual.

On Dec. 15, the Ducks picked up a 4-1 victory as short 'dogs (-105) at Madison Square Garden, while the Under (6.5) cashed. The Ducks are 2-1 in the past three meetings at Honda Center, and the Over has cashed in each of the past two skates on The Pond.

Jonathan Quick (3-10-1, 3.13 GAA, .887 SV%, 1 SO) continues to get starts, as the Rangers don't have any other choice with Igor Shesterkin (lower body) on the shelf due to a lower-body injury. Quick has been horrific lately, going 0-4-1 with a 5.78 GAA and .786 SV% in five starts in January.

Lukas Dostal (15-12-2, 3.12 GAA, .890 SV%) has picked up the pace after a tough start to January. He allowed four or more goals in his first three starts, but he has won back-to-back games, while allowing three goals on 53 shots in his past two outings.

Let's take the Ducks to get the victory on home ice, and we'll go high on the total, since Quick has been so giving in goal.
