On paper, Frimpong is a replacement for the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold, but reports from the team have pointed towards him as a more flexible option. He will take minutes at right-back, though he also seems set to provide depth for Mohamed Salah on the right wing. Frimpong is a uniquely positioned defender as he prefers to play as an out-and-out winger, which gives him excellent upside, but also with Conor Bradley in the squad, starts don't seem guaranteed.
