Best NBA Bets Today (Tuesday, Jan. 13)
Deandre Ayton over 8.5 rebounds (-112) vs. Atlanta Hawks
BetRivers, 2:36 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Ayton can be maddeningly inconsistent, but this is a good opportunity for him tonight on the boards. Over the past 10 games, Atlanta is allowing the most opponent rebounds per 48 minutes (48.0). Over the past month, they've allowed massive rebounding performances of 13+ to four players -- Kel'el Ware (13), Joel Embiid (14), Karl-Anthony Towns (15) and Ariel Hukporti (16). These teams faced off earlier in the year, and Ayton had five rebounds in 20 minutes. It also helps that LeBron James and Luka Doncic are questionable for this game, as both of them are high-level rebounders for their positions.
Atlanta Hawks -2.5 at Los Angeles Lakers (-110)
DraftKings, 1:53 PM CT
Nick Whalen: First and foremost, the Lakers are still down Austin Reaves and could be without at least one of Luka Doncic and LeBron James on the second night of a back-to-back. The line would imply that perhaps Doncic will play, but that's still not enough to convince me the Lakers should be only 2.5-point dogs against a mostly healthy Hawks team coming off of double-digit wins over the Warriors, Nuggets and Pelicans in the last six days. LA is just 2-4 ATS on the second leg of B2Bs this season, while the Hawks are 4-1 ATS with a rest advantage.
Jaden McDaniels over 24.5 points + rebounds + assists at Milwaukee Bucks (-118)
BetMGM, 1:53 PM CT
Nick Whalen: We're taking a small leap of faith on McDaniels, who's ultimately a role player for the Wolves but should see a jump in responsibility tonight with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert sidelined. The absence of Edwards, in particular, has led to a sharp increase in scoring for McDaniels, who's averaged 20.2 PPG in seven games without Edwards this season.
