Each week I share my favorite college player props as part of our DFS College Football series.
We find our edge with RotoWire's Picks & Props tool. Multiple prediction factors help decide if we should lean "higher" or "lower" on all of the player props available across multiple sportsbooks and DFS sites. I use the tool as a starting point to highlight favorable prop lines that I might otherwise miss and to narrow down my options before doing a deeper dive into trends and matchups.
Below are the best picks you can make on Underdog Fantasy this week.
QB Julian Sayin, Ohio State
Sayin has been a Heisman candidate throughout the season, but after two straight games with fewer than 200 pass yards, both Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Notre Dame's Jeremiyah Love have pulled ahead. With star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate banged up and questionable to play, Sayin could be in for another below average game.
Michigan won't make it easy on him. The Wolverines are allowing just 208.5 pass yards per game. Last year, the over/under total for this matchup closed at 44.5 points, and the final score was 13-10. Ohio State quarterback Will Howard threw for just 175 yards in that one - even with a healthy Smith, Tate and (current NFL star rookie) Emeka Egbuka healthy and catching passes. The total is 44.5 again, and I think this rivalry matchup looks like a defensive battle just waiting to happen again.
CFB Underdog Pick: Julian Sayin LOWER than 242.5 pass yards
QB Jalon Daniels, Kansas
Kansas has piled up three losses in the past four games, with Daniels falling short of 200 yards in each of those games. At home, Daniels has only exceeded 176 passing yards in two of six games this season with one of those being against Wagner.
None of those matchups were against a defense as strong as Utah's. Utah is allowing just 176.6 passing yards per game, ranking 21st best in the country. With a spot in the playoffs still at stake, the Utes should bring their best against the Jayhawks.
CFB Underdog Pick: Jalon Daniels LOWER than 199.5 pass yards
RB Sieh Bangura, Ohio
Usually, I'd avoid a line set this high, but Bangura over 90 yards has been pretty much automatic all season. He has topped the number in six of seven conference games.
Buffalo's defense has been strong against the run, allowing just 3.43 yards per rush, but the Bulls have not faced a tandem like QB Parker Navarro and Bangura. In addition to Bangura running wild all over the MAC, Navarro has tallied at least 60 rush yards in five of those seven contests. The threat of Navarro running opens up holes for Bangura.
CFB Underdog Pick: Sieh Bangura HIGHER than 90.5 rush yards
WR Tre Richardson, Vanderbilt
Richardson has been a beneficiary of QB Diego Pavia's recent hot streak (passing for 1,226 yards and 11 TDs in the past three games). He has over 120 receiving yards in each of the past two games and is averaging 91.5 over the past four. Prior to that he had only topped this line in three of seven games, so if it wasn't for this favorable matchup, I'd probably avoid this prop.
The combination of Pavia's campaign for the Heisman and Tennessee's shaky pass defense steers me confidently to the over. The Volunteers are allowing 247.1 pass yards per game, ranking 109th in the country.
We're getting a good number on Underdog, as other DFS sites and sportsbooks have Richardson's line set as high as 53.5 yards. Take the value.
CFB Underdog Pick: Tre Richardson HIGHER than 47.5 receiving yards
