I guess by default I did better this past week, but we have a long way to recover after that miserable two-week stretch prior. I do think from a moneyline perspective this is a pretty straight forward NFL slate, but that's been a trap at least for me against the spread. Hopefully I'll have learned my lesson in a few of these instances.

NFL Week 6 Predictions
In this article, we also take a look at NFL Week 6 odds and our predictions for each NFL game. Home teams are listed last.
Eagles vs.
Giants
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Eagles vs. Giants | Eagles -7 | Philadelphia -360; New York +285 | 40.5 |
I think I have some degree of nerves the Giants can keep this game somewhat competitive, or rather Philadelphia will let them hang around. After the Eagles finally took their first loss last week, maybe they'll be motivated to stomp out a divisional opponent that should be over their skis.
Spread Pick: Eagles -7
Total Pick: Over 40.5
Broncos vs.
Jets
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Broncos vs. Jets | Broncos -7.5 | Denver -410; New York +320 | 43.5 |
Of all the truly horrendous teams in the NFL, I wasn't anticipating the Jets would be the last without a win. The travel aspect is one of those fluky things that can sometimes create a balance for an otherwise lopsided coaching discrepancy, but point blank I just don't feel comfortable saying New York is a team capable of covering against anyone right now.
Spread Pick: Broncos -7.5
Total Pick: Over 43.5
Rams vs.
Ravens
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Rams vs. Ravens | Rams -7.5 | Los Angeles -395; Baltimore +310 | 44.5 |
Simply put, if Cooper Rush is out there the Ravens have no chance to cover. The assumption is Lamar Jackson (hamstring) will not play another week, so I'm taking Los Angeles without even blinking.
Spread Pick: Rams -7.5
Total Pick: Over 44.5
Cowboys vs.
Panthers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Cowboys vs. Panthers | Cowboys -3 | Dallas -175; Carolina +145 | 49.5 |
Alright, here was the first truly difficult pick for me. The Cowboys have a better offense and are almost always more consistent. But Carolina's offense at least finds spurts, especially when trailing significantly, where they can turn things on. And Dallas' defense is so atrocious that I could be convinced Bryce Young can keep the team hanging around. What am I saying; that I'm actually considering betting on Young sells all you need to know about this one.
Spread Pick: Cowboys -3.5
Total Pick: Over 49.5
Cardinals vs.
Colts
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Cardinals vs. Colts | Colts -7 | Indianapolis -340; Arizona +270 | 46.5 |
This number feels like a no brainer to me, and that Vegas gave us the half point is especially worrisome. I guess I'll walk into the fire anyway though. Arizona's offense is pretty pitiful and their defense seems to lose secondary pieces every single week. Say what you want about Daniel Jones, but he has surprisingly consistent the entire season, and it shouldn't change this week.
Spread Pick: Colts -6.5
Total Pick: Over 47.5
Seahawks vs.
Jaguars
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Seahawks vs. Jaguars | Jaguars -1.5 | Jacksonville -120; Seattle +100 | 47.5 |
I don't know what to make of this one. I didn't like either team relative to the social media hype entering the year, but both have largely proven me wrong. After a pretty consequential win over the Chiefs on Monday Night Football last week this just seems like a pretty obvious let down spot, but I do think the West to East coast travel hangover for a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff is a real thing. This is going to be a sloppy game, but the Jaguars have been winning those types of games all year.
Spread Pick: Jaguars -1.5
Total Pick: Under 46.5
Chargers vs.
Dolphins
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Chargers vs. Dolphins | Chargers -4.5 | Los Angeles -218; Miami +180 | 44.5 |
The Chargers continue to lose key pieces weekly with the latest, Omarion Hampton (ankle), a bigger loss than it seems like the general public is acknowledging. It's less to do about how well Hampton was playing, and more about making Los Angeles now entirely one dimensional since the combination of Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal are hardly threatening. That's the worst place to be with an offensive line that is also currently in tatters. I think I'd rather tease this line in another direction, but if I have to take a stand it's with the Dolphins, who also benefit from a major travel disparity.
Spread Pick: Dolphins +4.5
Total Pick: Under 44.5
Browns vs.
Steelers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Browns vs. Steelers | Steelers -5.5 | Pittsburgh -258; Cleveland +210 | 37.5 |
I despise this line. Dillon Gabriel was fine in his first professional start, but now he's dealing with an unusual travel week and against a Mike Tomlin team that's well-rested off the bye. Pittsburgh should not be a near touchdown favorite against anyone, but I don't know how the Browns score more than 14 points in this game.
Spread Pick: Steelers -5.5
Total Pick: Under 37.5
Patriots vs.
Saints
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Patriots vs. Saints | Patriots -3.5 | New England -185; New Orleans +154 | 45.5 |
Can a trap game happen after the big divisional win? I'm stunned this number is so low. It's the most rat of Vegas rat lines I can recall this season. I think the Patriots benefitted from every possible break in their big win over the Bills last week, but they still have significantly more talent than New Orleans does, home field advantage or not. Vegas obviously knows something more than I do, but I'll walk straight into this fire regardless.
Spread Pick: Patriots -3
Total Pick: Over 45.5
Titans vs.
Raiders
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Titans vs. Raiders | Raiders -4.5 | Las Vegas -230; Tennessee +190 | 41.5 |
What an absolutely gross game. Judging by the total Vegas doesn't think there will be much offense, but I hope for our sake there's a little bit if only to make this somewhat memorable. Please for everyone's health do not bet on this game in any way.
Spread Pick: Titans +4.5
Total Pick: Under 41.5
49ers vs.
Buccaneers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
49ers vs. Buccaneers | Buccaneers -3 | Tampa Bay -155; San Francisco +130 | 47.5 |
This should be a fascinating game. I assume the Buccaneers will win this game if only because I don't know how the 49ers keep game planning through all the injuries, but they did it in arguably harder circumstances last Thursday against the Rams. They don't get compared often, but Baker Mayfield does feel so similar to Matthew Stafford in a lot of psychological ways that I never feel like his teams are ever out of it no matter the opposition or circumstance. I'd rather just take the Tampa Bay moneyline though.
Spread Pick: Buccaneers -3
Total Pick: Over 47.5
Bengals vs.
Packers
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Bengals vs. Packers | Packers -14 | Green Bay -950; Cincinnati +625 | 44.5 |
What a comically dumb line. Matt LaFleur has shown absolutely nothing in his coaching pedigree to suggest any of his teams should be two-touchdown favorites against anyone much less a quarterback like Joe Flacco who is capable of getting the ball out quickly to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Everyone absolutely needs to avoid using the Packers at all costs in Survivor.
Spread Pick: Bengals +14
Total Pick: Over 44.5
Lions vs.
Chiefs
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Lions vs. Chiefs | Chiefs -2.5 | Kansas City -142; Detroit +120 | 52.5 |
Kansas City's schedule has been absolutely brutal this season, but they also just haven't looked like the type of defense you'd expect given all the postseason success with a bunch of familiar faces. Detroit's had Kansas City's number in recent years, which is exactly why I think the Chiefs come to play in this one and maybe flash the vintage championship pedigree. Dan Campbell's teams always show up, but a inspired and loud Arrowhead feels like a difficult situation for a banged up Detroit team.
Spread Pick: Chiefs -2.5
Total Pick: Under 52.5
Bills vs.
Falcons
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Bills vs. Falcons | Bills -4.5 | Buffalo -225; Atlanta +185 | 49.5 |
I think Buffalo needed that loss against the Patriots to really course correct an organization that seemed to be lackadaisical, or at least seemed to lack urgency. Atlanta is a perfect get-right opponent because you have to take them seriously, but they do just enough things that can lose a game on a week to week basis that I'm not terrible threatened by an upset. Once again I'd prefer the moneyline, but teasing this is probably an equally safe call.
Spread Pick: Bills -4.5
Total Pick: Over 49.5
Bears vs.
Commanders
Game | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Bears vs. Commanders | Commanders -4.5 | Washington -225; Chicago +185 | 49.5 |
I somehow missed this game when looking at the schedule this year. I absolutely love that we're going to get at least three flashbacks to Tyrique Stevenson's moronic play from last year, and ultimately this should be a competitive game that I don't think really has a lot of stakes in the grand scheme of the postseason. Kinda a perfect MNF game in my opinion.
Spread Pick: Bears +4.5
Total Pick: Under 49.5
