Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Slayton is back for another season as the deep threat in Brian Daboll's offense, following a 2024 campaign in which 31 percent of his targets and yardage occurred during the two games Malik Nabers missed. Never a target hog, Slayton otherwise flew under the radar even more so than usual last year, averaging 1.5 catches for 27.2 yards on 3.4 targets in 10 games after Nabers returned from concussion protocol. The 28-year-old has four seasons of more than 700 receiving yards but none with 800, and he hasn't scored more than four TDs in a year since netting eight as a rookie back in 2019. There's not much of a ceiling to be had, especially in PPR formats, but Slayton doesn't face much competition for a top-three role and may benefit from playing with QBs Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston rather than Daniel Jones. A return to his 2022-23 level of production thus appears possible, after slumping to 573 yards and two TDs last year. Read Past Outlooks

Held catchless in opener
Slayton did not catch his only target against the Commanders in Sunday's Week 1 loss.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was targeted by Russell Wilson just once on a day when the Giants' new quarterback heaved 37 total passes. Malik Nabers got a hefty amount of opportunities, as expected, with 12 targets, while Wan'Dale Robinson was pretty active with eight. Wilson completed just 17 of his 37 attempts for 168 yards, and if he continues to struggle the team may eventually turn to rookie Jaxson Dart, but head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Monday that Wilson will be the Week 2 starter Sunday in Dallas, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. With that in mind, Slayton doesn't project to be an appealing fantasy target for that contest.

Slayton's five years with the Giants have yielded four seasons in the range of 46-50 catches, 724-770 receiving yards and 15.0-15.7 yards per catch. That includes 2023, when he was stuck in an offense with terrible blocking and three different starting quarterbacks. Slayton led the team in receiving for a second straight year (and fourth time overall), with the final four weeks accounting for 41.7 percent of his yardage and three of his four TDs. Despite the strong finish, it may be difficult for the 2019 fifth-round pick to match his past success after the Giants selected WR Malik Nabers sixth overall in the 2024 Draft. While Slayton is still likely to have a starting job, there's a good chance Nabers almost instantly becomes the best WR and strongest target-earner Slayton has ever shared a field with.

Underappreciated at his position
Slayton is viewed by Aaron Schatz of ESPN.com as the most underrated wide receiver in the NFL.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 fifth-round pick has persevered through some lean years in the Big Apple, getting his career off on the right foot with eight touchdowns that season and going on to exceed 700 receiving yards in four of his first five years in the league. Schatz notes Slayton has had a positive defense-adjusted value over average for three straight seasons, and, despite his production dropping to a 39-573-2 line in 2024 with the arrival of Malik Nabers, the Giants still re-signed the veteran to a three-year, $36 million contract this offseason.
