2025 Fantasy Outlook
Brown has established himself as one of the top defensive linemen in the NFL, and the Panthers recognized that by giving him a four-year, $96 million contract prior to the 2024 campaign. Unfortunately, the season itself didn't go according to plan, as Brown remained on the field for only 56 snaps before tearing his MCL in Week 1. While his outlook for 2025 is unclear due to his health, Brown is currently projected to be on the field to begin the campaign. He may be somewhat limited early on regardless, but he'll be the key to the Panthers' front seven once again. Read Past Outlooks
Returns to form in 2025
Brown recorded five total tackles (four solo) during Saturday's 34-31 wild-card loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
After missing 16 games last season due to a knee injury, Brown returned as one of the NFL's top interior defensive linemen in 2025. He played all 17 regular-season games and recorded 73 total tackles, the second most among interior defensive linemen, while facing double teams on 64.4 percent of his snaps. Additionally, the Auburn product tallied seven passes defensed, 5.0 sacks and one forced fumble while logging 808 defensive snaps during the regular season. Under contract through the 2028 season, Brown is expected to remain one of the NFL's top defenders in 2026.

Brown and the Panthers have found a recipe for success and appear ready to stick to it. After struggling to make the impact expected of a No. 7 overall pick for the first two years of his career, Carolina committed to having Brown plug the line and defend the run at an elite level. Brown's rate of snaps as a pass rusher have fallen each season and his production has trended the opposite direction, culminating in Brown's first 100-tackle campaign of his career in 2023. It's safe to expect more of the same in the upcoming season, as the sides agreed to a massive four-year, $96 million extension in April. Brown won't be the most exciting pick, particularly when compared to the elite pass rushers in the league, but he's a plenty impactful player in his own right.

ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old defensive end was injured Week 1 of last season and underwent knee surgery, but his rehab has gone very well, and Brown seems to be ahead of schedule. His return should provide a huge boost to a Carolina defense that was historically bad last year, as Brown racked up a career-high 103 tackles over 17 regular-season games in 2023.
