2025 Fantasy Outlook
Reed isn't especially fast for a smaller wide receiver, having run a 4.45 40 at 5-foot-11, 187 pounds, but that hasn't stopped him from frequently making big plays out of the slot ever since Green Bay took him in the second round of the 2023 Draft. His combination of big receiving plays and semi-regular carries (31-282-3 career rushing line) seems promising for fantasy, but Reed's target volume took a step back rather than forward between Years 1 and 2, in part because he continued coming off the field for two-wide formations. His two best games last season both occurred within the first four weeks, but he never got more than six targets in any game thereafter. His 11.4 YPT ranked third among qualified WRs, but he drew 19 fewer targets than he had as a rookie, with his target rate dropping from 23.1 percent of routes all the way down to 16.8 percent. Reed's impressive per-target efficiency and frequent TDs suggest he deserves more chances, and quite possibly more playing time in two-wide sets, with few players offering a better mix of route-running and after-the-catch skills. On the other hand, there's no guarantee of further development (he turned 25 in April), and Reed comes with added risk this season after reportedly suffering a Jones fracture during training camp. He intends to play through the injury after resting for a few weeks, but it may impact his explosiveness even if he remains available. Read Past Outlooks

Reed (foot) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Reed likely will be operating under a maintenance program for as long as the Jones fracture in his left foot is bothering him, but he was able to suit up for Sunday's win against the Lions, logging 18 of 48 offensive snaps (38 percent) in the process. He was effective with his limited workload, hauling in three of five targets for 45 yards and one touchdown and taking two punt returns for 21 yards. Reed will have two more chances to be deemed a practice participant this week ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Commanders.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2023
Doubts about Reed's fantasy value ahead of his second pro season mostly center around uncertainty regarding volume. His rookie year left no doubt that the 50th overall pick is a high-quality player, with Reed tallying 793 receiving yards, 119 rushing yards and 10 total TDs on only 578 snaps (52.7 percent of the team total). He's about average in terms of size (5-11, 187) and speed (4.45 40), but his agility and route-running stood out almost immediately, making him more of a big-play threat than other slot-based WRs. Most of Reed's stats look like those of a perimeter target -- e.g. 10.1 aDOT, 12.4 YPR, 8.4 YPT -- even though he was lined up outside just 28 percent of the time. Production like his normally would demand a big role increase heading into Year 2, and while that's certainly possible, it isn't a given. 2022 second-round pick Christian Watson has 14 TDs in 23 NFL games, and 2022 fourth-rounder Romeo Doubs had 234 receiving yards in Green Bay's two playoff appearances (plus a team-high 96 targets during the regular season). On top of that, 2023 fifth-round pick Dontayvion Wicks had 581 yards on 58 targets last season, giving the Packers a fourth promising WR on a rookie contract. Even the tight ends could be a problem, with 2023 draft picks Luke Musgrave (second round) and Tucker Kraft (third round) both topping 350 yards last year and possibly inspiring the Packers to make two-TE sets a regular feature moving forward. It's an awful lot of competition for snaps and targets, even with QB Jordan Love and HC Matt LaFleur leading the charge for what could be one of the NFL's better offenses.
The Packers drafted Reed 50th overall this spring after a college career that saw him go for 797 yards as a freshman at Western Michigan and 2,069 yards the following three seasons at Michigan State. He had his best year as a junior with 1,026 yards and 10 TDs, then dropped to 636 yards and five TDs last season while battling foot, hip and back injuries. Reed has a chance at a key role early in his career, joining the youngest WR room in the league with his main competition for playing time being second-year pros Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. The Packers also have 2023 fifth-rounder Dontayvion Wicks and 2022 seventh-rounder Samori Toure, while the roster doesn't have any older players with NFL starting experience to help new QB Jordan Love.

Has Jones fracture in foot
WRGreen Bay Packers
August 31, 2025
Reed has a Jones fracture in his left foot but plans to play through the injury this season, per Jason Wilde of CBS Madison.
ANALYSIS
Jones fractures often require surgery to heal, but Reed will attempt to play through the injury rather than risk missing most or all of the season recovering from a surgical procedure. He acknowledged Wednesday that he's still dealing with pain from the injury, but Reed participated in Thursday's padded practice.
