2025 Fantasy Outlook
A year ago someone might have sooner figured Gordon a first-round pick than a sixth-round pick, but things can change quickly for collegiate running back prospects, especially when their numbers fall like they did for Gordon between 2023 and 2024. The sixth-round pick out of Oklahoma State was a veritable Heisman candidate in 2023, running for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns at 6.1 yards per carry, but in 2024 those figures fell to 880 yards and 13 touchdowns at 4.6 yards per carry. Those numbers aren't so bad if you split the difference, but the gap between those two years will always be jarring. At 6-foot-1, 226, Gordon has a somewhat prolonged stride which can trip him up when his offensive line gets caved in, but once he picks up momentum he's a concerning proposition for a squared-up defender. Things broke in his favor in Miami this summer, with Alexander Mattison suffering a season-ending injury and both De'Von Achane (calf) and Jaylen Wright (leg) getting banged up in August. The Dolphins seemingly expect Achane back for Week 1, but Gordon could be the No. 2 running back and take some carries. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Limited to three touches Sunday
Gordon rushed twice for four yards and brought in his only target for minus-1 yard in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Gordon came into his first professional regular-season game with the prospect of filling a solid No. 2 role behind De'Von Achane. However, a wild first half that saw the Colts establish a 20-0 lead by intermission essentially nullified the ground attack, with Achane himself logging just seven carries on the day. As a result, Gordon was rendered a non-factor, but he could be in line for more opportunities during a Week 2 home matchup against the Patriots since Jaylen Wright (knee) is expected to remain sidelined for that contest.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Slotting in as RB2 in Week 1
Gordon is set to occupy the second spot on Miami's running back depth chart against the Colts in Week 1, as De'Von Achane doesn't have an injury designation while Jaylen Wright has been ruled out due to a knee injury, per Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site.
ANALYSIS
Achane has been bothered by a calf injury but practiced without limitations Friday and is set to get the bulk of the workload in Miami's backfield Sunday. Gordon should still get some opportunities in Wright's absence, and goal-line opportunities could go the 226-pound Gordon's way over the 188-pound Achane.
