Yes, yes, it is a big football day with huge games in the NFL and CFB Selection Show, but college hoops continues to deliver a high quality schedule on the regular. Today is no exception, with a number of ranked teams hitting the hardwood and some juicy mid-major match ups. I went 1-2 on Monday but I'm still rocking an 18-9 record on the season. Today's menu looks delish... let's dig in.

Central Connecticut Blue Devils at Northeastern Huskies
Patrick Sellers has built a winner at CConn and has continued that success into this season. The Blue Devils regularly beat teams outside of the KenPom top-200 and give better teams fits. Today, they travel to Boston to take on a Northeastern team that has had a very odd start to the season.
The Huskies have impressive road wins at Colgate and Harvard and a neutral win over No. 141 Duquesne, but are winless at home. A very large part of the issue has been the loss of star guard LA Pratt, who was lost for the season after game three. Without Pratt, Northeastern has suffered home losses to No. 200 Vermont and No. 297 Holy Cross.
Central is not an easy to get right against, particularly with a road trip to Syracuse looming. I like the value on the dogs in this one.

Austin Peay Governors at UTRGV Vaqueros
Like many solid mid-major teams, Austin Peay is a squad that beats the teams below it but loses to better teams, despite valiant efforts. The Govs are 3-0 against teams outside of the KenPom top-200 with wins of 20, 6, and 18, two of which were on the road. Today, they head to the Rio Grande Valley to take on a team that has just one D1 win on the season, and it was over the No. 320 team in the country (Southern Utah). In fairness, this is their first opportunity for a home win, but I see AP being quite a bit ahead of the Vaqueros at this point in the season, particularly with the injuries to Kye Dickson and Marshal Destremau. I think the wrong team is favored here.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs LSU Tigers
Despite their recent stumbles and close calls, I'm still a believer in Grant McCasland and this Texas Tech team. Once the Red Raiders figure out their roles and rotation, they will kick it into the next gear. I don't have the same feelings for this unbeaten LSU team. The Tigers are good, no question, but they have yet to face a top-100 team, and in their only true road game, No. 140 Boston College, took them to OT. Tech is at a different level and will be too much for LSU.
