Toronto Maple Leafs
at Utah Mammoth
The Maple Leafs (23-15-7) meet the Mammoth (22-20-4) at Delta Center in Salt Lake City at 10 p.m. EST on ESPN+/hulu.
Don't look now, but the defending Atlantic Division champions are flying up the standings in the division. Toronto has picked up at least one point in 10 straight games, securing 18 of a possible 20 points while going 8-0-2 since Dec. 23. That includes an impressive 4-3 win in overtime against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night behind Joseph Woll, as William Nylander had the OTW.
The offense has picked up the pace for the Maple Leafs, finally awakening and finding a way after the massive hole left when Mitch Marner departed for the Vegas Golden Knights via sign-and-trade in the offseason.
The Core Four was supposed to be no more, but Matthew Knies has decided he will step in to give the team that fourth dynamic offensive weapon. He has 12 goals and 26 assists, which is second on the team, and he is third with 38 points, ahead of even Auston Matthews (37 points).
Nylander, meanwhile, has 16 goals and a team-leading 46 points after his heroics in Denver on Monday, and while he has just 73 shots on goal across 35 games, he is making them count, posting a sizzling 21.9 shooting percentage.
The last time Toronto was in a back-to-back, it lost at Detroit 3-2 in OT on Dec. 28 behind Dennis Hildeby. The Leafs are just 1-3-1 in the past five games with no rest, with the Under going 5-1-1 in seven contests this season on no rest.
The Mammoth are coming off a 3-2 OTL against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, snapping a three-game skid. They're still 4-1-1 in the past six games, and the Under is 4-1 in the past five outings.
Karel Vejmelka (20-11-2, 2.63 GAA, .898 SV%, 1 SO) is likely to go for Utah, and that's a tough goaltender to face when the legs could be a bit tired, especially after an emotionally draining OTW while playing back-to-back games at elevation, too.
* If you bet this game straight up, take Utah on the moneyline. BUT, if you are betting a same-game parlay, use a boost, promo or no sweat bet, or play the larger parlay listed below, take the Maple Leafs as the underdog on the puck line. We're going to go low on the total, too, which has hit frequently for Utah.
- * Mammoth ML (-145 at Caesars Sportsbook)
- Maple Leafs +1.5 (-188 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
- Under 6.5 (-130 at DraftKings and Fanatics Sportsbooks)

Dallas Stars
at Anaheim Ducks
In the second part of our 10 p.m. EST parlay, the Stars (27-10-9) and Ducks (21-21-3) square off at Honda Center in Anaheim.
Dallas is also playing on the second end of a back-to-back after toppling the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena. Wyatt Johnston, Jason Robertson and Matt Duchene each scored goals in the road victory, while Jake Oettinger turned aside 24 of 25 shots in the road win.
On no rest, the Stars won 4-1 in Washington last Wednesday, and they're 5-1-0 in the second end of a back-to-back this season. The Over is 2-1 in the past three on no rest, but the Under is 4-2 in six games overall this season for Dallas.
Casey DeSmith (10-2-5, 2.47 GAA, .911 SV%, 1 SO) is expected to be in between the crease, while Lukas Dostal (13-12-2, 3.29 GAA, .886 SV%) is confirmed for the home side.
The Ducks are reeling, going 0-8-1 across the past nine outings, allowing at least three goals in 12 consecutive games. In that span, Anaheim is allowing 60 goals, or 5.0 goals per game (GPG), so it's no surprise that the Over has connected in eight straight outings, and 11 of 12 games during the span. The defense and goaltending have been absolutely brutal.
For the Stars, they're 2-0-1 in the past three games, but 2-3-4 in the previous nine outings. Dallas has scored three or more goals in six in a row, and 12 of the past 13 outings, but it has also allowed four or more goals in seven of the past nine contests. The Over is 8-3-1 across the previous 12 games, too.
We're going to go with the Stars behind DeSmith, and it's an easy call on the Over. It's actually shocking that there aren't some flat sevens offered.
