Best WNBA Bets Today: Sunday, August 24
Shakira Austin under 12.5 points (-110)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 9:45 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: Austin is coming off an 18-point outing against Las Vegas on Saturday, her highest scoring performance since July 27. She played 24 minutes during the first half of Washington's weekend back-to-back set, her most since missing three games in mid-August. Before the strong performance, Austin was operating under a minutes restriction. It wouldn't be surprising to see her minutes (and usage) monitored closely during the second game of a back-to-back set, which will make it difficult for her to score more than 12 points, a mark she's surpassed only three times since July 29.
Napheesa Collier over 18.5 points (+100)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 9:50 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: Collier is expected to suit up for the first time since Aug. 2, ending a seven-game absence due to an ankle injury. While she's been sidelined, Alyssa Thomas and A'ja Wilson have made a mad dash up the MVP power rankings, but it's still Collier's award to lose. Given the Lynx's huge lead in the standings, Collier wouldn't be coming back if she weren't 100 percent, and I expect her to have at least close to a full workload as she attempts to put one more stamp on what is expected to be her first WNBA MVP campaign.
Paige Bueckers under 18.5 points (-115)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 9:55 a.m. CT
Kirien Sprecher: After her epic 44-point explosion in Los Angeles, Bueckers came crashing back to Earth on Friday, scoring only 11 points in 22 minutes as Seattle blew out Dallas. While the rookie has had a fabulous season, the sportsbooks aren't letting you cash on Bueckers' overs easily. She's surpassed this mark only twice in her last six games, and it'll be difficult to generate much offense against Golden State's sticky defense. When these teams matched up in July, Bueckers scored 17 points on 7-for-15 shooting.
